“DIARY OF A WINNER”

FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM

April 22, 1912
... The game vs Washington Nationals was postponed due to rain.  The Sox practiced on the wet grounds and mist.  Because of the poor field conditions, President James McAleer was forced to call off the game.  Anxious to play, both teams were out for early practice, and not until 2:45 did the decision to postpone was made. Four out of the first five games scheduled have been rained out thus far.
