“DIARY OF A WINNER”

BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS

June 2, 1916 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox hit the trail at 7:30PM last night and will not be seen at Fenway Park again until June 20th.  It was a confident band of players that Bill Carrigan led out of town.  20 players made the trip with Harry Hooper and Del Gainor staying behind.  Jack Barry  will leave for Cleveland and it is expected that Hooper will rejoin the team in Detroit.  The Red Sox were supposed to play an exhibition game with the Buffalo Bisons today, but it was rained out.  The team left at 5PM for Cleveland.
