“DIARY OF A WINNER”

BABE RUTH

BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS

June 11, 1916 ... Rain from 7AM to four in the afternoon, made the days activities at Sportsman's Park impossible.

Bill Carrigan voiced his opinion, that with some proper training, Babe Ruth's true place would be in the outfield.  The Sox need Babe's arm on the mound, but it is obvious that playing every day with a chance to bat four times, would make Babe one of the best hitters in baseball.  Babe said he would welcome the opportunity to be an every day player.
