BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS
The Red Sox take two from the Macks

July 4, 1916 ... The Red Sox made this holiday a great experience for themselves with a doubleheader sweep.  The first game was a walk-over by a score of 11 to 2, and the afternoon game was closer, but never in doubt.  The continued poor fielding of the Athletics was a thorn in their side.  Mack shuffled his line-up for both games with a large amount of ex-college players seeing action.
