THE BEST SEASON IN BOSTON'S BASEBALL HISTORY

BOSTON BRAVES ...
SPAHN & SAIN and PRAY FOR RAIN ...

May 12, 1948 ... When the Braves landed in Chicago, it was obvious that the game would not be played.  Rain, wet grounds, and the thermometer around 40 degrees would not mean baseball in Chicago.

The Braves traded Denny Litwhiler to Cincinnati today.  They acquired Marv Rickert from the Milwaukee farm club.
