CURT SCHILLING'S HOME

BOSTON STRONG -
THE ROAD TO REDEMPTION
Schillings selling off assets

October 6, 2013 ... Curt Schilling, famed Red Sox pitcher and failed video-game business owner, is selling off items from his Medfield home this Saturday.  Schilling's estate sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m at Schilling's Medfield home, according to Consignworks Inc. of Dudley, the company managing the sale. The estate sale is part of the Schilling family's decision to downsize, said Vicki Rellas, a spokeswoman for Consignworks.

The Schillings are also trying to sell their seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom Medfield home, which they bought in 2004 from former New England Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe for $4.5 million. The home, which boasts a batting cage and putting green, has been placed on the market several times since 2008, the price dropping from as much as $8 million to its current listing of just under $3 million.

Jared Remy, son of famed Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, pleaded not guilty in Middlesex Superior Court to charges that he fatally stabbed his girlfriend at their Waltham townhouse in August.  The 35-year-old Remy, who is being held without bail at the Middlesex Jail, faces a murder charge and five other counts stemming from the death of Jennifer Martel, an aspiring teacher who would have turned 28 last month.

Before heading to Tampa for Game 3 of the ALDS, Sox slugger David Ortiz celebrated the team's 2-0 series lead at Emerald Lounge.  Big Papi was joined by a few friends, including Bruins forward Shawn Thorton and wife Erin, chef Jason Santos, and the unofficial Red Sox barber, the stylist known as Monster99. (His real name is Angel Lucas Pena.)
