Both Bob Garbark and his brother Mike played major-league ball, both wrapping up their big-league careers in 1945 when Mike was with the Yankees and Bob was with the Red Sox. Bob was a late report to spring training with the Red Sox (he’d had to complete his duties at the college and then be reinstated from the retired list.)
