DON DEEKS   T

Don Deeks was born on February 10, 1923 in Portland, Oregon and attended Grant High School. In high school he threw the javelin and discus for the track team, as well as playing football.

After graduation he received track and football scholarships from the University of Washington. His Husky teammates and Don faced USC in the 1944 Rose Bowl his senior year, where they were defeated, 29-0.

He was drafted in the 4th round by the Boston Yanks in the 1945 NFL Draft. For the Yanks, he played tackle in 1945 and 1946.

In 1947 he moved on to play with the Washington Redskins and then played with the Green Bay Packers in 1948.

After his NFL career ended, Don ran a store and restaurant in Portland, Oregon.

Don Deeks died on September 4, 1995 at age 72, in Bend, Oregon.
