FOOTBALL AT FENWAY
Frank Maznicki leads the Eagles past Georgetown

October 25, 1941 ... In a repetition of their 1940 thriller, the Eagles again dug themselves out of the hole and downed the Georgetown Hoyas by a 14-6 score.  The first two minutes were a nightmare for the Eagles as Georgetown hopped away to an early lead resulting from a B.C. fumble on their own 13-yd line shortly after the initial kickoff.  Four plays later Georgetown scored on a 14 yard aerial.  The maroon then started from their own 20-yard line and tramped 80 yards to even the count.  An arching pass from Ed Doherty to Eddie Zabilski carried the Eagles over from the twenty eight. Georgetown missed a couple of chances to take the lead, with 39 yard and 16 yard field goal attempts.

In the last quarter B.C. increased their slender margin as they swept the length of the field for the next score.  On this march a perfectly executed pass from Doherty to Don Currivan ate up 52 yards and put the Eagles down on Georgetown's 21-yd line.  Frank Maznicki ripped over tackle for fifteen more and then ran over right guard for six and a touchdown.  The Eagles had a statistical advantage all around; first downs (9-8), rushing yards (169-59), and passing yards (106-100).  Three times in the first 20 minutes of the game, Boston College lost the ball on fumbles.
