FOOTBALL AT FENWAY
The B.C. line smothers
Holy Cross, 6-0

November 28, 1953 ... The Eagle defensive line divested the enemy of an offense it could muster in this golden anniversary of the Holy Cross contest.  The Eagles blocked a kick in the end zone in the second quarter with Rocco Charlton carrying it in for the only six points of the game.  The B.C. defense never allowed the Crusaders to breach their 40-yard line at all.  They made it to the 40-yard line on a bad snap to the punter that Holy Cross' Chick Murphy returned.

On the blocked kick, it was left end Frank Marr and guard Al St. Pierre who broke through to make the block on punter Hank Lamire.  The ball scooted around as all the players descended on it, with George Blair finally recovering the ball for Holy Cross on their 6-yard line.  Unfortunately for the Crusaders, being fourth down, the recovered football belonged to B.C.  Jimmy Kane took the Eagles over in three shots, with Charlton breaking the plane with the eventual game winning score.  That was all the Eagles needed, because the boys from Worcester could not generate any offense for the rest of the game.
