“FOOTBALL AT FENWAY”

COACH BUFF DONNELLI

FOOTBALL AT FENWAY
The Terriers spear Mohawk in their season debut

September 27, 1947 ... Boston University made its debut at Fenway Park with a drubbing of Mohawk University under new coach Aldo "Buff" Donnelli.  The score would have been greater if the Terriers had not pulled their first team, mercifully when the game was out-of-hand.  It will be difficult to tell just how good this team is, because Mohawk was so bad.  Donnell used every man on the B.U. squad while Mohawk only could manage a score against the Terriers' fourth team.  B.U. scored twice in each of the first three periods, their touchdowns scored by seven different halfbacks.  Mohawk's team is made of ex-GIs and all are freshmen and sophomores without much football experience.
