“DIARY OF A WINNER”

FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM

April 28, 1912 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox captured three out of five games played last week at Fenway Park and got in two sensational finishes, when with the bat after playing a poor game in the field.

The Red Sox play the champion Athletics tomorrow and will be in a fine position by winning one of the next two games, heading out on the road for five games. Schedule gives the Red Sox a great advantage, offering a splendid chance to get a good position in the Reds. The last four days of the week they will meet Washington in the capital and then head off to New York for one game with the Highlanders.

Now that Heinie Wagner as come back into form, no apprehension is felt about the shortstop position. The pitching is far from ideal and too many baserunners are allowed to maneuver at random before there is a man at third.
