FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM July 7, 1912 ... No game scheduled ... The gallant Boston Red Sox ballplayers arrived home from Philadelphia this morning, well satisfied with their lot against the world champions. Last season the Athletics walked all over the Red Sox, but this season has laid the stage from the start, showing that the Red Sox should take their series. The Red Sox will enjoy a little time at home facing St. Louis, the first club to show up in Boston tomorrow afternoon. The heat in Philadelphia was oppressive and the players will enjoy every second of relaxation at their homes today. |
