“DIARY OF A WINNER”

FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM

July 26, 1912 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox arrived in Chicago today nearly two hours ahead of their scheduled time. The Cleveland players and the Red Sox players had the train to themselves until the Chicago players were picked up in Albany, making a party of nearly 100 baseball people on the same train. The Naps left the train in Cleveland and the special thereafter made only one stop before ending in Chicago, where the weather is cool and pleasant.

There was very little baseball talk on the way out as the players were too busy playing cards and socializing. President McAleer is confident that the team will win out and figures that Washington will have hard work to win their games on the trip. The Sox players enjoyed a day off and will be at the ballpark tomorrow with Buck O'Brien on the mound.
