“DIARY OF A WINNER”

FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM

September 27, 1912 ... No game scheduled ... The New York Giants finally clinched the National League pennant against the Boston Braves.

The Red Sox had a work out and some batting practice at Fenway Park and left for Washington last night at 8 o'clock. The last regular-season game is scheduled with Philadelphia one week from today. According to present plans, the Red Sox will return to Boston Saturday night, have a little practice at Fenway Park the following Monday and leave for New York in the afternoon.

The wife of Heinie Wagner, captain of the Red Sox, gave birth to a 10 lb baby boy and both are doing nicely.  Larry Gardner’s injured finger is healing on schedule.  Residents of Lewiston, Maine announced their plans to welcome home Bill Carrigan with a reception at City Hall, after the World Series.
