THE 1914 "MIRACLE" BRAVES
April 29, 1914 ... Rain and wet grounds precluded the possibility of a game between the Giants and the Braves. The postponed game will be included in a
doubleheader to be played on June 24th. The players stuck close to the hotels and were guests of the management at the Globe Theatre in the evening.
April 30, 1914 ... Rain and wet grounds again cancelled the game with the New York Giants. Intermittent showers in the morning and an uncertain forecast had the
management cancel the game at noon. It did clear up sufficiently to allow the Braves to get in a late afternoon workout. After a long batting practice, the regulars played the second stringers in a game until it was dark. |
