“DIARY OF A WINNER”

WORLD CHAMPS AGAIN

September 21, 1915 ... The doubleheader between the Red Sox and Indians was called of because of rain and wet grounds.  The games will not be made up because two doubleheaders are already scheduled for the next two days.  Both teams were practicing at Fenway Park when the rain started.  As manager Bill Carrigan noted ... if we don't play at all, then we can't lose.

Some of the Cleveland players have organized a quartet.  The singers, led by Ray Chapman, entertained the Indians and Red Sox players while they were waiting for the decision to be made about whether they were going to play.

Tris Speaker lost his dog, a Boston Terrier named Busher, after he tied him up outside the Back Bay police station and stopped in to see his friend Lieutenant Hickey.  When Tris came back out his dog was gone.
