“DIARY OF A WINNER”

TRIS SPEAKER

BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS

May 7, 1916 ... No game scheduled ... When Cleveland comes to town this week, it will be "Tris Speaker Day" and the Mystic Shriners, of which he is a member, will honor him, turning out in large numbers for his welcome home. President Lannin will have a band at the park and most of the songs have been picked out by the Shriners. The Indians are in first place and his presence in the lineup is a contributing factor.
