“DIARY OF A WINNER”

GEORGE SISLER

BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS

August 27, 1916 ... No game scheduled ... The St. Louis Browns arrived today.  The club, because of its excellent showing should draw a large crowd at Fenway Park.  Fielder Jones, George Sisler, Burt Shotton, Eddie Plank and several others are performing well.  Much interest has been shown in George Sisler wherever the Browns play.  He is well up in the leaders in batting, fielding and base running.  The St. Louis fans are wild over Sisler and Rogers Hornsby, the other rookie star, who is playing for the Cardinals.
