IN THE WORLD SERIES ...

April 19, 1946 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox worked out at Fenway Park today.  Bill Butland's sore pitching arm is getting better after treatment in Miami.  Butland is expected to rejoin the team today.  Manager Joe Cronin plans to keep Earl Johnson in the bullpen as a relief pitcher because of his four year layoff, until his arm gets stronger.
