The Red Sox arrived in Chicago with several photographers waiting for the team in the hotel lobby.  Most of the people in the midwest regard the Sox as a powerhouse.  One photographer wanted a picture of the team's .400 hitters.  Manager Joe Cronin reminded him that Pesky, DiMaggio  and Williams no longer are batting .400   Reporters wanted to know about the rumor of a trade for the Browns' Vern Stephens.  Cronin said the rumored trade has never been discussed.   New member of the Sox, Bob Klinger has not appeared yet.
