“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 2 ...
A POWERFUL RED SOX TEAM FAILS
IN THE WORLD SERIES ...

July 10, 1946 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox bought Toledo Mudhens manager Don Gutteridge to bolster their infield behind Bobby Doerr.  In return the Sox sent Louisville outfielder, Charley Gilbert to Toledo.  The Sox sent down pitcher Bill Butland to Louisville to make room for Gutteridge.

All of the Red Sox who didn't participate in the All Star game worked out at Fenway Park today.  There was a long batting practice session.

Manager Cronin went to his cottage in Osterville with his family.
