“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 2 ...
A POWERFUL RED SOX TEAM FAILS
IN THE WORLD SERIES ...

July 15, 1946 ... No game scheduled ... The Cleveland Indians posed for their team picture at Fenway Park and then traveled up to the Manning Bowl in Lynn to play a night exhibition game against the Lynn Red Sox.  Before 7000 fans, behind Jim Hegan, the Indians won 2-0.

Joe Cronin told his players to take the day off and closed Fenway Park.  Only Don Gutteridge showed up to check on his belongings and pick up a check that was mailed to the Jersey St. offices.
