TED WILLIAMS

BOSTON RED SOX ...
THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 3
A
SUBWAY SERIES DISAPPEARS ...

August 2, 1948 ... No game scheduled ... Ted Williams had x-rays taken of his leg at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis today.  They were negative.  Trainer Eddie Froelich urged that the x-rays be taken, because Ted's leg is still very swollen.

Bobby Doerr still has a hot bat with 11 hits in his last 28 at bats in seven games.  His errorless streak in the field is now at 42 games.
