“DIARY OF A WINNER”

GEORGE SCOTT

THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 6 ...
"THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM"

April 17, 1967 ... No game scheduled ... Manager Dick Williams announced the George Scott would be benched in favor of Tony Horton, because he felt that talking to him was like talking to cement.  Williams also said that Scott was overweight and was told numerous times to slim down, and his numerous strikeouts forced the manager's hand.
