“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 6 ...
"THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM"

September 28, 1967 ... No game scheduled ... After losing two games to the Indians, the Red Sox players were quiet and somber in the locker room after the game. But after learning the White Sox lost twice to the Athletics and the Twins lost to the Angels, the players had more of an up beat attitude as they took batting practice at Fenway today.

John Wyatt, bother by a stiff arm for the past week, threw some batting practice.  George Scott, who normally would not work out on a day off, was disappointed in his production this week and was in the cage taking his cuts.

September 29, 1967 ... No game scheduled ... The Chicago White Sox were eliminated from the American League pennant race by losing to the Washington Senators, 1-0, their third straight loss. After losing a doubleheader to Kansas City, the White Sox needed to win their last three games against the Senators, to have any chance.

The Tigers and Angels game was postponed due to cold and windy weather.  As a result, the teams will have to play two doubleheaders over the weekend.
