“DIARY OF A WINNER”
|
THE CURSE OF
THE BAMBINO, PART 10
October 26, 1986 ...
A few players from both teams straggled into Shea before the
game was rained out around 5 p.m. Mets Keith Hernandez, Gary Carter
and Ron Darling were already at the stadium. And Red Sox Bill
Buckner, Dwight Evans and Don Baylor were in various stages of
dressing by the time commissioner Peter Ueberroth beat a hasty
retreat into the rainy night after announcing that Game 7 had been
postponed until tomorrow.
For the most part, and for various reasons, they didn't
want to extend the season an extra day. |
