June 7, 2013 ... The Red Sox acted quickly as heavy rain fell Friday, postponing their game against the Los Angeles Angels 6 1/2 hours before the first pitch was scheduled.

Triple A Pawtucket also was rained out Friday, so third baseman Will Middlebrooks and outfielder Shane Victorino had a day off in their rehab assignments.  Middlebrooks has played three games for Pawtucket, going 4 for 9 with two home runs and six RBIs.  Middlebrooks will stay with the PawSox for their series in Syracuse over the weekend.  Victorino was 2 for 4 with a home run in his first rehab game. He will be at Fenway tomorrow and could be activated for the second game of the doubleheader.
