BOSTON STRONG -
THE ROAD TO REDEMPTION
The Tigers advance to the ALCS

October 9, 2013 ... The Red Sox flew back to Boston after eliminating the Rays, arriving at close to 6 a.m. The team was off today and will work out at Fenway Park tomorrow afternoon. There will be another workout Friday.

October 10, 2013 ... The Red Sox, Farrell said, will stick with the same 25-man roster they used in the Division Series. The only player who didn't see any action against Tampa Bay was lefthander Felix Doubront, a starter turned long reliever.

Tickets for Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 of a possible World Series at Fenway Park will be available via automated phone only (888-REDSOX6) beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday. No tickets will be available at the Fenway Park ticket office. There will be a four-ticket limit per fan for World Series games with prices ranging from $125 to $375.

Justin Verlander pitched the Detroit Tigers into an American League Championship Series matchup against the Red Sox with yet another clutch outing, holding the A's to two hits over eight innings, aided by a Miguel Cabrera two-run homer as Detroit edged Oakland in Game 5, 3-0 at O.co Coliseum.

October 11, 2013 ... Many Tigers were still groggy after getting into Boston at 9 a.m. following their Game 5 win in Oakland, Calif. "We're used to getting in at nine," Leyland said. "Usually it's not after a game."  The cross-country flight, he said, wasn't easy.
