Bennie LaPresta was born in Bellevue, Ohio on January 22, 1909 but the family moved to St. Louis. He starred in football at Crystal City High School. in 1926 He played college football at St. Louis University who won four state championships and a Missouri Conference title while he was there.

He played football professionally with the Boston Redskins in 1933 as a running back, rushing for 62 yards and receiving one pass for 23 yards in eight games. In 1934 he played with the St. Louis Gunners.

After football, Bennie worked for the Internal Revenue Service and was a referee for college and high school football games.

Bennie LaPresta was a 2010 inductee into Crystal City Hall of Fame and passed away in St. Louis on August 11, 1975 at age 66.
