Bobby Nichols was a life-long resident of South Boston, and graduated from South Boston High School where he was All-District and All-Boston Conference. He then went on to play football at Boston University and was their leading receiver in both 1965 and 1966. He was named captain in 1966. He was selected in the 17th round of the 1967 NFL Draft by the Boston Patriots and played tight end for them in 1967 and 1968. After his pro career, he was a parole officer for the Boston Municipal Court and Executive Director of the Curley Recreation Center. On April 17, 2002, Bobby Nichols passed away due to a brain tumor in South Boston at age 60. |
