CHARLEY LONG   G

Charley Long was born on April 6, 1938 in DeKalb, Alabama, and attended Fyffe High School. He then went n to play football at the University of Chattanooga.

He was selected in the 8th round of the 1961 NFL Draft by the Boston Patriots, where he played guard and tackle from 1961 thru 1969. He was an iron-man, playing in 80 consecutive games before being sidelined by an ankle injury.

In 1962 he was selected as an AFL All Pro and an All Star in 1962 and 1963.

Charley Long was named to the Patriots 1960s All-Decade Team and passed away on December 16, 1989, at age 51, in Framingham, Mass.
