Charley Malone was born in Hillsboro, Texas on June 18, 1910. He played college football at Texas A&M.

He went on to play pro football as a receiver with the St. Louis Gunners in 1932 and then with the Boston Redskins from 1934 to 1936 and moved with the team to Washington, playing with them until 1942. In 1935, he led the NFL with 433 receiving yards.

Charley caught 137 passes for 1932 yards and scored 13 touchdowns in his career and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1942.

Charley Malone passed away on May 23, 1992, at age 81, in Lake San Marcos, California.
