LONNIE FARMER   LB

Lonnie Farmer was born March 18, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio. A graduate of Steubenville High School, he went on to play football briefly at Northwestern University and transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. While at Chattanooga he was the Southern Intercollegiate Wrestling Champion in 1962 in the 190 pound weight class.

He was drafted by the Boston Patriots in the 20th round of the 1964 AFL Draft, and played middle linebacker in Boston from 1964 thru 1966, when his playing career was cut short by injury.

After football, he was an executive with Gulf Life Insurance Company for almost twenty years, and he completed his career in the banking and mortgage lending industries.  

Lonnie Farmer was inducted into the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Hall of Fame in 1987 and passed away on February 24, 2016, at age 75, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
