Marlan Coughtry was formally brought up to the Boston Red Sox in 1960, and in the spring he joined the Red Sox at Scottsdale for spring training. Manager Billy Jurges took advantage of the early exhibition season to look over some of the prospects. He was pleased by the showings of two young infielders, Coughtry and Carl Yastrzemski.
