May 30, 1948 ... Thousand of fans were disappointed at the all-day rain that fell in Boston.  Many had ridden many miles to see the next chapter in the Eddie Stanky vs Leo Durocher feud.

The Braves waited until shortly before noon before announcing the postponement.  As a result of the washout, the Braves can do no better than a split of their first extended homestand of the season.
