July 22, 1948 ... Heavy early morning rain caused the cancellation on the game at Crosley Field. Jim Russell was hospitalized with a 102 temperature caused by an abscessed tooth.  The team took the plane to St. Louis and Sibbi Sisti, who was in Dayton OH, took the train.
