“DIARY OF A WINNER”

EARL TORGESON & KIDS

BOSTON BRAVES ...
SPAHN & SAIN and PRAY FOR RAIN ...

September 23, 1948 ... No game scheduled ... The Braves went through a complete workout at Braves Field.  Billy Southworth divided the team into two groups.  All his starting pitchers threw on the sidelines only.  Bill Salkeld was at the hospital for a checkup.  He had been suffering from tonsillitis but expects to be ready to play.
