The American came right back to score after a Shamrock fumble that was recover by Dick Fife for the Arerks who returned it 75 yards to tie the score. Early in the second period, the Rocks recovered a fumble on a punt at their 12-yard line. A lateral gained seven yards and Pendergast passed to Swede Ellstrom in the end zone to put the Rocks out front with a 14-7 lead at halftime. A pair of zig zagging runs by Earl Bartlett gave Boston two more touchdowns in the third period. The first for 35 yards around the Pittsburgh left side, with the next one scored on a reverse around the Pittsburgh right side. |
