FOOTBALL AT FENWAY
B.U. holds B.C. for three periods,
but the Eagles win it in the fourth

November 23, 1929 ... Boston University gave Boston College all it could handle until the last period when the Eagles cut loose four four touchdowns and won the game 33-0.  The Eagles had maintained a one touchdown lead as a result of Joe Kelly's 47 yard scoring run on the fourth play of the game.  But after that, the game was see-sawed back and fourth.  Several times B.U. tore off good gains through the center of the line by Phil Hootstein and Crab Welke but they were held back from the goal line.

But shortly after the start of the fourth period, Chessy Antos streaked up the field for 98 yards and a touchdown, after intercepting a Hootstein pass near his own goal line.  B.U. had been in scoring position after Hootstein had intercepted a B.C. pass at the 40-yard line and put on the Eagle 20.

After that, the Pioneers lost heart.  The Eagles, led by Mike Vodoklys, scored three more touchdowns before the final whistle.  Vodoklys scored two before Ralph Mallett took over for him and set up the last scoring drive with Frank Lyons taking it in for the last touchdown.
