B.U. erases early St. Lawrence lead
by scoring three touchdowns

Trailing by 14 points late in the first half, Boston University rallied splendidly and scored three touchdowns to pull out with a 19-14 victory over St. Lawrence at Fenway Park. From start to end, the visitors showed power on the offense and defense, matching
every move the Terriers made with some alert playing. They intercepted three of the Terrier passes and batted down so many others, that the final stats indicated that only 10 of 23 were completed by B.U. The Terriers made three times as many first downs but lacked the spark at
crucial times. On defense Captain Johnny Walker, Roland Bernard, and Jim McDonald were conspicuous in there ability to sniff out plays and stop the St. Lawrence offense. McDonald blocked a St. Lawrence punt late in the game when the Terriers were behind 14 to 12, allowing
Irwin Kopecky to pick it up in the end zone for the winning score.
St. Lawrence scored the first points in the game on a 45-yard run from scrimmage by Johnny Goodrich. A turnover on a pass interception, allowed St. Lawrence to notch another touchdown. Clinton intercepted the ball, lateraled to Bill Leckonby who ran 70 yards,
unmolested, for St. Lawrence's second touchdown. B.U. came out fighting after this, and three passes brought the ball to the St. Lawrence's 8-yd line. On third down Earl Compton fumbled, but Johnny Walker picked it up and carried it in for the Terrier's first score. In
the third period a fumble by St. Lawrence resulted in another B.U. score. B.U. rallied for their final score, with Earl Compton hitting Jim McDonald and Ralph Salvatti down to the St. Lawrence 18-yd line where the dive stalled giving the ball to the Larries on downs. The B.U.
defense could not be penetrated forcing St. Lawrence to punt from their own end zone. McDonald broke though the line, blocked the kick and Kopecky jumped on the ball for the touchdown and the victory.
