FOOTBALL AT FENWAY
October 11, 1947 ... Boston University ran away from it's N.Y.U. opponent, 38-7 at Fenway Park. The Terriers started slowly scoring one touchdown in the first half, then blew everything wide open in the second half with four touchdowns. The Terriers took to the air for three of their scores, two scores on the ground, and the other as the result of a pass interception by guard, Zarv Alemian, who scored a touchdown. Once the game got going, it turned out to be nothing more than a scrimmage giving Coach Donnelli a chance to use his reserve players. Second string quarterback, Billy Tighe ran the squad for most of the second half. Bob Hatch grabbed one of John Toner's passes for a touchdown in the second period, and ran around left end to score n the third. |
