BACK-TO-BACK WORLD SERIES CHAMPS
The Red Sox lose the final game
of the Indians' series

July 8, 1916 ...  The Cleveland Indians walloped the Red Sox by a score of 5 to 1 at Fenway Park in the final game of the series.  They jumped out to a quick two run lead off Ernie Shore in the first inning and never looked back.  Tris Speaker starred for the Indians, scoring two runs, and making sensational plays in the outfield.
