“DIARY OF A WINNER”

FENWAY'S FIRST TEAM
July 14, 1912 ... No game scheduled ... The Red Sox will have a busy week at Fenway Park with the Tigers and the Chicago White Sox coming for the rest of the week. The Tigers will be here for two more games and the White Sox will play five games in four days and should draw a large crowd with their powerful lineup. President Charlie Comiskey is making the trip with the team and will be in Boston this week.

The Red Sox have won five of their last six games and while most other teams in the American League were falling off slightly, the Red Sox showed an improvement with the bat as a whole. Tris Speaker (.396), of course is in a class by himself among the regulars, although the team has five other .300 or better hitters.
