No game scheduled ... The Red Sox arrived home from Detroit and
3:30 this afternoon. Four of the players were not with the team. Larry
Pape went to Cincinnati to see his family, Heinie Wagner stopped over in
New Rochelle to see his family, and Larry Gardner and Harry Hooper left
the party in Albany to go to Gardner's home in Enomburg Falls, Vermont.
The players left the station and several including Joe Wood, Buck O'Brien, Tris
Speaker, Steve Yerkes, Hick Cady, Jerry Nunamaker, Pinch Thomas and their mascot
Jerry, went over to the South End Grounds to see the Braves game. Manager Jake
Stahl went to his home in Newton, where his son was ready with a royal welcome.
President McAleer went to his home in Brookline.
Joe Wood complained very sore arm and he will not get into the game before
Thursday or Friday. |
