“DIARY OF A WINNER”

RED FABER

WORLD CHAMPS AGAIN
Faber one hits the Red Sox

September 15, 1915 ... The White Sox took the final game of the series by beating the Red Sox 3 to 1.  Vean Gregg started for the Red Sox and gave up eight hits all clustered together for three runs, striking out nine.  Chicago jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning which the Red Sox matched in the fifth inning.  But that was all the Red Sox could do.  Red Faber was immense and had the Boston hitters off balance, allowing just one hit to Tris Speaker and passing only three.
