“DIARY OF A WINNER”

THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO, PART 6 ...
"THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM"

September 6, 1967 ... No game scheduled ... Tony Conigliaro's vision has not returned to normal and he will face further tests.  Doctors are concerned about damage inside the eye.  Doctors said that Jose Santiago is fine and can pitch in his next start. Mike Andrews is taking whirlpools but has not picked up a bat.

The Red Sox received permission to print World Series tickets. The World Series will start on October 4th, in the American League city. Tickets will be sold in two game blocks, pairing the first and seventh games, and the second and sixth games.

The stadium plan for Readville is going through the financing aspects and policies. Legislative leaders, Governor Volpe and the MBTA are scheduled for a hearing in October. The plan calls for $46 million to build a roofed stadium which would be part of a complex including a restaurant and an exhibition hall.  The seats would be adaptable for football, basketball and a skating rink.
