The Sox beat the Giants
in Cooperstown

August 18, 1975 ... The Red Sox traveled to Cooperstown and beat the San Francisco Giants, 11 to 5 in the Hall of Fame Game.

Fred Lynn and Dwight Evans cracked two home runs in the first inning. Carlton Fisk hit a solo homer in the third inning and Denny Doyle added a two-run blast in the sixth. The Sox knocked four Giants pitchers around for 14 hits. Dick Pole made his first start since being beaned and pitched three innings, giving up four hits and two runs.

Marc Hill and Steve Oniveros connected for the Giants with solo home runs before a crowd of 9978 at Doubleday Field.
