“DIARY OF A WINNER”

COUNTY STADIUM

THE "GOLD DUST TWINS" AND
A SEASON TO REMEMBER
...
The
Brewers cut off the Sox

September 5, 1975 ... Pete Broberg fired a six-hitter and Sixto Lezcano's three runner homer finished off a three-run first inning that lead the Milwaukee Brewers past the R4ed Sox, 4 to 2.

Carl Yastrzemski singled home Cecil Cooper in the top of the first inning to give the Sox a quick lead but the Brewers came back in their half of the first with two runs on Lezcano's homer to put them out front to stay. Broberg then retired 18 straight batters. The Brewers added another run in the sixth inning on a home run from Pedro Garcia.

The Sox added a run in the ninth inning when, with two outs Dwight Evans reached on a booted grounder by Garcia and was singled home by Rick Burleson.
