The Red Sox explode for 20 runs

The Sox mashed out their biggest night of the season, roughing up
Jays starter Josh Fleming for 10 runs and putting 20 on the
scoreboard for the 18th time in franchise history, and the first
since 2015, against the Seattle Mariners.
The Sox went 12-for-24 with runners in scoring position and came
through with seven two-out RBIs. Kike Hernandez, who went 3-for-5
with two doubles and three runs scored, had three hits through three
innings. Hunter Renfroe went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs.
Bobby Dalbec went 2-for-3 and drove in five runs.
The Sox didn't waste many scoring opportunities. They hung three runs
on Fleming in the first inning with RBI doubles from Renfroe and
Xander Bogaerts, and an RBI single from JD Martinez.
They tacked on to the lead in the second inning with a two-out double
from Renfroe that scored Dalbec and Hernandez and widened their lead
to 5-0.
The Sox blew the game wide open in the fourth inning. With one out
and runners on first and second, Rafael Devers delivered a run
scoring double that stretched the lead to six. Fleming intentionally
walked JD Martinez to load the bases, then walked Kevin Plawecki on
four pitches to let Renfroe trot home and push the lead to 7-0.
Marwin Gonzalez singled to right to score Devers and Dalbec followed
with a line-drive single to right the brought in Martinez and
Plawecki, giving the Sox a 10-0 lead.
But the Sox weren't done. The score became more lopsided with a
four-run fifth inning. Martinez stroked an RBI single to right and
Dalbec lifted a fly ball over the head of Randy Arozarena in right
field. It dropped in for a three-run triple.
Nathan Eovaldi cruised through even innings and didn't give up a run,
until Brandon Lowe stung him for a homer in the sixth.
